“Kind of a weird question maybe, but are your model’s eyebrows drawn on? Because when I look at myself, I feel like I just have a completely naked face,” Linda asked us on Instagram.
She was right to notice! For this particular photoshoot, Tine’s eyebrows were carefully drawn by our talented makeup artist, An, to look as natural as possible. Tine has alopecia areata, which means she really is bald. Her hair loss comes and goes in unpredictable cycles, so you never know when her lashes and brows will grow back—or fall out again.
When Tine first started modeling for us a few years ago, she had powder brows. In recent shoots, her natural lashes and brows had begun to grow back. But this time, she had lost them completely again.

We’re so happy that Tine has been one of our models for several seasons now. She’s just like Tamara, Heidi, Wendy, Hanne, Annemie, and Joke—real women who have all posed for us. Women like you and me.
Why is that so important to us? Because we don’t want to mislead you with photos of professional models hiding a full head of hair under their scarf or hat. We want you to see exactly how a headwrap will look on a truly bald head—just like yours. What you see is what you get. And we have a feeling you love that as much as we do. ;-)
Want to read the personal stories and experiences of real women with cancer or alopecia?
You’ll find them all in our Interviews & Stories section. They’ll give you an honest glimpse into how these women cope with their diagnosis—sometimes full of confidence and strength, other times with raw vulnerability and doubt. And that’s completely normal.
Because there are as many ways to deal with it as there are women. Every woman is different. And every day is different, too. And that’s perfectly okay.
