Two Autumn Wardrobe Heroes: Staying Stylish Through Chemo Hair Loss

2 najaarstoppers voor in je kleerkast: chemo en toch trendy!
There are certain clothing pieces every woman should have hanging in her wardrobe. Here are two that give you extra flair when you’ve lost your hair due to chemotherapy. And of course, we’ll show you the prettiest chemo hats and chemo scarves to style with them.

Top pick 1: the cape

Capes are completely back this autumn. In classic wool, oversized knitwear, or checked fabrics that feel as cosy as blankets. They look far more feminine than a classic, heavy winter coat. And you can wear them both casually and stylishly.

Extra bonus: have you recently had underarm surgery and is your shoulder or upper arm still a bit stiff? Then you can throw on a cape with ease in one smooth movement. And no fiddling with tight sleeves that might restrict the circulation of lymph fluid in your arm. Even if you’re still getting used to your new port under your collarbone (or Port-A-Cath), a cape is much quicker to put on and take off than a regular coat with sleeves.

Top pick 2: the denim blouse

A denim blouse is one of those pieces everyone should own. Young or old, edgy or classic — it always works. A denim blouse is like a pair of jeans: it gets better the more you wear it and gently shapes to your body. Combine it with a chunky knitted cardigan for a casual look. Or tuck it into a skirt (pencil skirts and long maxi skirts are totally ‘on trend’ this season) with a chic little vest. Go for the ton-sur-ton effect with soft pastels, or give your outfit more punch with contrasting colours and materials.

Extra bonus: light blue denim is a wonderfully flattering colour when your face could use a little extra brightness during chemotherapy. Is your skin looking dull and pale, or flushed from medication? Light blue refreshes it in no time. Your eyes look clearer, your complexion glows, and you’re ready for compliments.
